Dora M (Shippy) Cornell

Dora M. Cornell, 90, of Berlin, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.

Dora was born in New Buena Vista on February 1, 1932, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Diehl) Shippy.

On August 21,1952, she married Robert L. Cornell; who preceded her in death on March 18,2002.

She is survived by son- Greg husband of Sharon (Shirley) Cornell, of Berlin; son- Jim husband of Lisha (Calhoun) Cornell, of Bedford; daughter- Bobbie wife of Orville Koontz, of Everett; daughter- Beth wife of Bill Motter, of Schellsburg; son-in-law- Orvil Davis, of Clearville; twin sister- Doris Fochtman, of New Baltimore; along with 18 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Dora is preceded in death by daughter Dot Wyles; son Bill Cornell; daughter Bren Cornell; daughter Connie Steach; brothers: Carl, Earl, Dalton, and Harold Shippy and sisters: Mariam Lewis, Ruth Powell, and Florence Lafferty.

Dora was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ.

She was a waitress at many restaurants. She enjoyed gambling at Rocky Gap and spending time with her kids and grandkids.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11 AM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home with Pastor Cheryl Ward officiating.  Interment will be at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo Mills, PA.
