Donald S. "Donnie" Conrath, Sr.

Mr. Donald S. "Donnie"  Conrath, Sr., 47, of Altoona, died Friday, January 15th, 2016 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Conrath was born in Bedford on Monday, May 6, 1968,  the son of Betty (Kagarise) Conrath of Osterburg and the late John Jacob Conrath.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by  Son- Donnie S. Conrath, Jr., Bedford; Son- Douglas Conrath, Bedford; Granddaughter- Bayleigh; Sister- Peg Hyde; Brother- Bill Conrath; Sister- Cindy Davis; Sister- Vanessa Berkheimer; Brother- Steve "Dink" Conrath; Brother- Jeff Conrath; Brother- Mike Conrath; Sister- Jen Gardner; Sister- Wendee Anderson.  He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Gregory, Virgil & Tim.

Donnie worked in the maintenance department of his apartment complex.  He was involved heavily in the Special Olympics, first playing softball then coaching and mentoring.  The Conrath Family would like to thank both Rich from Altoona and Judy from Bedford for the years of friendship they shared with him.  Donnie was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be greatly missed  .

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
