Mr. Donald R. Wishard, 74, of Auction Drive, Bedford died Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mr. Wishard was born in Gettysburg on Saturday, November 11, 1939,  the son of the late Raymond G. and Anna Sarah (Culp) Wishard.

He is survived by his partner of 20 years- Edna Mae (Beaner) Spade; Son- Brian R. widower of  Sharon (Melius) Wishard, Bedford; Daughter- Tracie H. Hinson, Bedford; Daughter- Dawn N. Wishard and fiancé Tobias Stiffler, Bedford; Step Son- James "Kit" Carson husband of  Sherri (Weyandt), Claysburg; Step Daughter- Tammy Warden, Haysville, KS; Step Daughter- Michelle wife of  Dennis Weyant, New Paris; Step Daughter- Charity Spade, Bedford; Sister- Shirley Sims, Mesquite, TX; Sister- Frances Stull, wife of Berlin, Greencastle. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Daniel Wishard, Justin Wishard, Jessie Foor, Codie Foor, Devin Whitfield, Jordyn Whitfield, Brianna Whitfield, Nickalus Stiffler, Kayla Carson, Christopher McCall, Stephanie McCall, Taylor Harper, Kyle Weyant, Kylee Weyant, Kaleb Crawley & Kolby Crawley, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Guy R. "Sonny" Wishard.

Don was a 1959 graduate of Greencastle High School.  He also graduated from the Reppert Auction School in Indiana.  Don was employed as both a truck driver and an auctioneer.  He had a great passion for both of his professions.  As a truck driver, Don owned and operated Wishard trucking.  He both drove and leased trucks to a number of other companies, including, Besel Trucking, Greentree Trucking, Shaffer Trucking, Wilson Freight, Spector Trucking and Bailey Express.  As an auctioneer, he owned and operated Bedford County Auctions and was a member of the National Auctioneer Association.

In addition to his enthusiasm for his vocations, Don enjoyed both antiquing and fishing.  He was a well respected member of the community, known for the compassion and support that he gave to everyone.  Don was a loving partner, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 25th, 2014 with Pastor Mark Mahan officiating.

Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM and Friday 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Bedford.
