Donald F. Powell

Mr. Powell was born in Bedford County on Wednesday, October 31, 1951, the son of the late Donald S. and Ruth (Shippy) Powell.
On November 1, 1993, he married Judy A. (Mock) Collins-Powell. In addition to his wife he is survived by Step Son- Scott M. husband of Wendy (Emrick) Collins, Schellsburg; Step Son- Jason A. husband of Denise (Stone) Collins, Newburg; Sister- Barbara widow of Robert Lafferty, Buffalo Mills; Sister-in-Law- Billie Jo widow of Richard Powell, Manns Choice. He is also survived by seven grandchildren. Don is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, Julie Smith, Heather Reeder, John Lafferty and Tobias Kimmel. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard on March 24 of this year and by an infant brother, Dale.
Don attended the Bedford Church of the Nazarene. He was employed as an operator at PennDot in Bedford and he formerly worked for Brocker Steel in York for 19 years.
Don was an member of the Chestnut Ridge Bow and Gun Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and loved classic cars.
A Funeral Service will be held at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center, Quaker Valley Road, New Paris at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 with Pastor Mike Adams officiating.
Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Spring Meadow Family Worship Center.
