Donald E. Meyers

Mr. Donald E. Meyers, 81, of Fleegle Road, Cairnbrook, died at 1:30 PM, Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 at Church of the Brethren Home, Windber.

Mr. Meyers was born in Shade Township on Thursday, October 27, 1932,  the son of the late George and Pearl (McIntyre) Meyers.

On June 8, 1963, he married Pauline W. (Wentz) Meyers.  She preceded him in death on February 24, 2008.

He is survived by Step Son- Glenn M. Lambert husband of Patricia (Beard), Ocala, FL; Step Daughter-
Doris J. (Lambert) Shaw wife of Edward, Cairnbrook; Step Son- Ronald L. Lambert husband of Janice (Wynn), Manheim; Brother- Maynard Meyers, Central City; Sister- Faye Turner, Rome, NY; Sister- Irene Dyke, Philadelphia; Sister- Mildred Kline, Central City; Sister Dorothy Synder, Friedens and by nine grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Filgus, Clyde & Virgil and by sisters, June, Carrie & Nettie.

Donald was a member of the Central City Christian Church and attended the Faith Brethren Bible Church.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  Don was a custodian at Highland Tank in Stoystown and at Shade-Central City School.  He enjoyed fishing, trains and made Christmas ornaments (miniature sleds), over 200, that he gave away to anyone he thought might like one.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 28th, 2014 with Pastor Randy Reynolds officiating.

Interment will be held at  Schellsburg Cemetery.  Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard,

Friends are invited to call on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Schellsburg.
