We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Donald Phillip MacGregor, on April 27, 2024. Born to the late William and Carrie Marguerite (Feaster) MacGregor in Fishertown, PA on September 4, 1936, he provided endless service to his country, community, and especially to his family.
Don was a graduate of Schellsburg-Napier High School in 1954 and attended Juniata College before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. After serving in Okinawa, Japan, he returned to the States to marry the love of his life, Carol Colvin, on March 30, 1957. Upon receiving an honorable discharge as a Sergeant, Don spent the rest of his career working in the printing industry for over 30 years. He owned a service station and worked with Shawnee Valley Ambulance Service, serving on the board at various times. Don also worked for Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home and Maxwell Transportation during his retirement.
As a devout servant of God, Don was a member of Bedford County Christian Church. His unwavering faith and love for God were always evident in his daily life. He loved fishing, working on his cars, going to sprint car races, Civil War re-enacting with his sons, and spending time with his family recounting stories from the past.
Don is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol (Colvin) on July 23,2019; much cherished son, Keith MacGregor; brother Ned Feaster; and brother William MacGregor, Jr.
He is survived by his children: Christi and her husband Bob Wroe of Bedford, PA; Matthew and wife Shelly Evans of Schellsburg, PA; and Jennifer of Dillsburg, PA. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Sarah and husband Edward Armstrong, Stephanie and husband Alexander Rohr, Allie and fiancé Alexander Bonner, Wyatt, Gracie, Brooklyn, and Mark.
Don was a true gentleman, a loving father, who dedicated himself to his family and was known for his generosity and kindness. We take comfort in knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
