Donald L. Lynch, 86, of New Baltimore, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He was born on December 13, 1937, in Greensburg, PA, to the late Dorothy (Leonard) and Joseph Lynch.
Don served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950's and was proud to be part of the crew that flew and maintained the Douglas C-133 Cargomaster, the largest Air Force plane at the time. He was retired from Briggs Manufacturing in Somerset, PA. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a founding member of the New Baltimore Sportsman's Club.
Don always lent a helping hand to anyone in need. He found immense joy in life's simple pleasures, such as talking to family and friends on his front porch, working in his vegetable garden, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
He especially cherished spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, never missing a chance to celebrate their successes, whether by cheering at sports events or sharing in their achievements and milestones.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean (Smith), with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage, children John (Katrina), Randy (Kathy), and Jill Yon (Jack), grandchildren Emilie, Ryan, Kaylin Fisher (David), Kassidy, Christian, Matt, and Justin, great-grandson Ridge, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters Grace, Kate Keller, and Joann Hickey, and brothers Joe and Jim.
Don will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart that knew no bounds.
