Donald H. Cox

Mr. Donald H. Cox, 71, of Valley Road, Bedford, passed away Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Cox was born in Everett on Friday, August 7, 1942,  the son of the late Harry Preston and Sarah Kathryn (Phillips) Cox.

On September 18, 1963, he married Mary Colleen (Brooke) Cox in Cumberland, MD.  Mr. Cox's death ends a marriage of 50 years.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Kimberly wife of  George Mock, Bedford; Son- Scott A. Cox and fiancee Denise Baldwin, Everett; Son- Kenneth husband of  Vanessa (Stockenus) Cox, Bedford; Twin Sister- Deloris wife of  Keith Bradshaw, West Virginia; Brother- Jerald husband of  Donna Cox, West Virginia; Sister- Sue wife of  Roger Staggs, West Virginia; Sister- Connie wife of  Michael Miltenberger, West Virginia; Sister- Ruth wife of  Argil Bradshaw, West Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, SSGT Joshua Crowley and wife Cheryl, Christopher Crowley and Fiancee Sarah Dull, Heather Carson and husband Mark, Justin & Aron Cox, Kurtis Cox and wife Berneda and Zachary & Alison Cox, and five great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Summer, Jordan & Landen and numerous nieces & nephews.

Don worked on the family farm for many years before becoming employed by Hedstrom and eventually retiring from JLG.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors, with his greatest love, being his grandchildren.  Don was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 with Pastor Jenny Barnes officiating.

Interment will be held at Friends Cove United Church of Christ Double Brick Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
