Mr. Denver Allen Barnes, 91, of Clear Ridge Road, Artemas died Sunday, May 18th, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Barnes was born in Englesmith on Friday, March 2, 1923, the son of the late Lester and Ada (True) Barnes Price.

Denver was married to Belle (Ash) Barnes.  She preceded him in death in 1993, ending a marriage of 44 years.

He is survived by: Friend- Vivian Carbaugh, Hagerstown, MD; Stepbrother- Ervin Price, Little Orleans, MD; Stepbrother- Joe Price, Little Orleans, MD; Stepbrother- Roy Price, Lion, NY.  He was preceded in death by a stepsister, Fannie Skidmore, three stepbrothers, Webster Price, James Price & Benjamin Price and several nieces and cousins.

Denver was a member of the Buck Valley Christian Church in Warfordsburg and a graduate of Everett High School.  He resided in Fulton County for 41 years and was a farmer in the area until 1993.  Denver then began volunteering at the Memorial Hospital of Western Maryland Health Systems of Cumberland, MD in the distribution department in February of 1994 and continued his volunteer work there until 2009.  He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his yard and hunting.

A funeral service will be held at Buck Valley Christian Church, Warfordsburg at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 with Rev. Scott Gibbs & Rev. Frank Teeter officiating.

Interment will be held at  Fairview Christian Cemetery, Englesmith.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Raystown Rd., Everett and on Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the church in Warfordsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Cemetery Association, c/o Larry Jay, 2035 Clear Ridge Road, Artemas, PA 17211.

Arrangements entrusted to Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Everett.
