Mr. Dennis C. Householder, 60, of N. Spring St., Everett passed away Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at Altoona Hospital.
Mr. Householder was born in Everett on Friday, July 18, 1952, he son of the late Wayne and Isabelle (Sleighter) Householder.
On June 2, 2007, he married Lois E. (Bussard) Householder. In addition to his wife he is survived by Brother- Mark W. husband of Linda (Rosentrater) Householder, Mechanicsburg; Brother- Wesley D. husband of Janna (College) Householder, Biloxi, MS. He is also survived by the following nieces and nephews, Laurie, Kenneth, Edward, Treva, Shane, Whitney and Lauren. He was preceded in death by his niece, Shanda Shaffer.
Denny was a member of the First Christian Church in Everett, where he sang in the choir, drove the church van and served on the Church Counsel. He was a 1970 graduate of Everett Area High School and was a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned several associate degrees in engineering. Denny was employed at New Enterprise Stone as a construction surveyor.
Denny served as a 2nd Class Petty Officer in the US Navy, specializing in sonar technology for ten years. He served aboard the USS Somers and the USS Conyham, both guided missile destroyers, during the Persian Gulf War.
Denny had a love for life and all it had to offer. He loved music and enjoyed going to concerts. He was an avid fan of Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Denny was a wine connoisseur and was always up for trying new things, especially sampling new food. Being with his family and friends was what he loved most in life and those who were lucky to call him a friend knew they were blessed.
Denny was a loving and devoted husband, a caring and dependable brother, a warm and doting uncle and a loyal friend. He will be missed by so many and remembered always for his generous and amiable spirit, his fun-loving attitude and his devotion to his faith.
A funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, Providence St., Everett at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 24th, 2012 with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.
Interment will be held at Everett Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Raystown Road, Everett and on Saturday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the church.
