Dennis Arthur Bowser gently passed to be with the Lord on October 6, 2023. Denny was born May 5, 1943, on the Twin Pine Farm in Alum Bank, Pennsylvania, son of the late Jack and Allene Bowser, where he lived his entire life surrounded by a loving family and friends.
He met the love of his life, Barbara Jane Hixson, the daughter of the late Russell and Esther Hixson, lapping the block in Bedford. The first time Denny saw Barbara at a wrestling match in the Bedford gym she was wearing a red sweater...he told himself, 'I'm going to marry that beautiful girl" and he did July 24, 1965.
They were the parents of Jill, formerly married to Mike Hamacek, Tonya, married to Jerry Miller and Kristen married to Joel Livingston. His grandchildren are Jordan and Lydia Hamacek, Eli and Leah Miller, Ben, Alex, and Parker Livingston.
Denny had a zest for life... taking care of the farm, riding his 4-wheeler, picnics, fires, working on and collecting cars, going to car shows, and creating his "Little Village" along Rt 56. He helped to start the Alum Bank Ambulance Association. He worked for years with his best friend and brother Jay, towing and fixing cars at Bowser's Body Shop. Later in life, Denny worked for PennDOT, where he made many great friends.
Denny is leaving behind his siblings, Jay, married to Patsy, Diane, married to Gene Otto, and Denise, married to Gary Kerr, all helpful and kind during Denny's extended illness.
Denny was a member of the Alum Bank Community Church. We are thankful to everyone who sent cards, called, visited, and prayed for Denny.
