David R. Watkins

David R. Watkins, 79 of Bedford RD 2 died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital, Johnstown.

Mr. Watkins was born on August 29, 1939 in Bedford, son of the late Ralph and Aileen (Bowser) Watkins.

David was preceded in death by his Brother- James Watkins, State College, Sister-Shirley Williams, Bedford and his best friend and soul mate Anita Lee Watkins, Boswell.

He left behind his Son-David Lee Watkins and daughter-in-law Cynthia Watkins of Boswell; Daughter- Mindy Watkins and her partner Kurt D. Johnson of Dubois, and Grandsons- Jonathon and Brandon Watkins.

David was a member of St. John's Christian Church, Cessna and a proud member of the Masonic Temple Lodge. He was the founder and owner of Watkin's Chevrolet in Boswell for 44 years.

Dave did not live an average life. He traveled where he wanted to go, he drove as fast as he could, he boated, he rode horses, he raced motorcycles, he laughed and he loved. Dave was a life-long Pittsburgh Steelers fan and season ticket holder. He never wavered in his devotion to the Steelers even when they disappointed.
Dave was a fun loving, caring man who made everyone he encountered adore him and call him their friend.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford from 2-4 PM.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 4:00 PM with Pastor Dan Oldam officiating.

Interment at Anderson Cemetery, Cessna.
