David H. Mannion

David H. Mannion, 73, of Graybill Road, Osterburg, died Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at home with family by his side.

Mr. Mannion was born in Kittery, ME on February 14, 1948, son of the late John and Hilda (Simms) Mannion.

On April 9, 1969 he married Sharon L. (Ake) Mannion.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Eric H. husband of  Maria Mannion, Osterburg; Daughter- Jennifer J. Mannion-Claar wife of  Brian Claar , East Freedom; Son- Matthew D. husband of  Amanda Mannion, Hershey; Son- Nathan L. Mannion, New Paris; Son- Alan M. Mannion, New Paris; Grandchildren Rachael and Benjamin Claar; Brody, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Samantha, Jacob and Aiden Mannion; Great-Granddaughter Adelyn Claar; Brother- John Mannion, Tyrone; Brother- James Mannion, Hollidaysburg; Sister- Robyn Mannion, Altoona. David was preceded in death by his Grandson- Mieckal Lucas Mannion.

David served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska.

He was retired after 47 years as a Bedford Borough Police Officer and was a Bedford County Sheriff Deputy for 3 years.

David was a member of F.O.P Somerset, Bedford American Legion Post #113 and Bedford Moose Lodge #480.

He was an amazing husband, father, pappy, brother, friend, mentor and co-worker who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021  with Pastor Ryan Patterson officiating.

Interment at Osterburg Community Cemetery.

Military Rites accorded by Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
