Mrs. Darlene L. Keel, 74, of Hinton Road, New Paris, died Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mrs. Keel was born in King Township on Tuesday, September 9, 1941, the daughter of the late Orlo W. and Mereda (Marshall) Benton.
In June of 1961, she married Donald E. Keel. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1975.
She is survived by Daughter- Kimberly M. wife of Frederick J. Rose, Imler; Son- Donald E. Keel, Jr. husband of Donna (Carson) Keel, Alum Bank; Daughter- Lorry E. wife of Richard D. Logue, Bedford; Brother- Barry O. Benton, Imler; Sister- June Comp, Imler; Sister- Charlotte Ritchey, Osterburg. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Donald III, Janelle, Branden, Jared & Fred II, and five great grandchildren, Oliveah, Kaydence, John, Donald IV & Hunter.
Beginning in 1958, Darlene was a waitress at the Coach Room & the Carriage House in Bedford. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #1245 in Bedford and the National 600 Bowling Club. Darlene was also a member DAR, the Bedford Historical Society and the Genealogical Society of Hollidaysburg. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, sister and friend and she will be missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
