Mr. Dalton Eugene "Buck" Waugerman, 96, of Main Street, Manns Choice died at 8:20 PM, Monday, April 11th, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Waugerman was born in Bard on Saturday, August 29, 1914, the son of the late Oscar B. and Maude L. (Holler) Waugerman
On June 1, 1939, in Cumberland, MD, he married Dorothy C. (Dively) Waugerman. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2000.
He is survived by Daughter- Carol A. wife of George Stout, Manns Choice; Son- Neil E. husband of Mary Lou (Haughey) Waugerman, Bedford; Son-in-Law- William R. Jennings, Sr., Bridgeville; Sister- Marion M. Bohn; Brother- Oscar B. husband of Stella Waugerman; Brother- Harry A. husband of Eleanor Waugerman, all of Buffalo Mills; Sister- Inda K. wife of Walter Logue, Bedford; Sister-in-Law- Velma Waugerman, Buffalo Mills. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, William R. Jennings, Jr., David C. Jennings, Aimee E. Benitez, Dr. James E. Jennings, Mark D. Stout, Douglas E. Jennings and Jacob B. Waugerman, and ten great grandchildren, Dalton Jennings, Amanda Vance, Michael Jennings, Holly Jennings, Philip Stout, Macey Jennings, Thomas Jennings, Maxwell Jennings, Jackson Jennings and Colton Jennings. Buck is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelby J. Jennings, his sister Amanda E. Shroyer and her husband, Walter Shroyer, his sister Leona P. Hyde and her husband, Floyd Hyde, his sister Olive M. Waugerman, his sister, Clara L. Leydig and her husband Clyde Leydig, his brother Roy E. Waugerman and his brother-in-law, Harold Bohn.
Dalton retired from Blackburn & Russell Company in Bedford in 1979. He previously worked as a carpenter for Donald Hunt in Bedford. Buck also worked for the State of Pennsylvania building roads during the construction of Shawnee State Park. He also farmed and was a sawyer.
Dalton was a member of the Grace United Christian Church in Manns Choice. He served as a school director for the Bedford Area School District. Buck was a member of the Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, a member of the Milligan's Cove Historical Society and a member of the Harrison/Manns Choice Senior Citizens. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. .
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 with Rev. Joseph Ward officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
