Mr. Dale E. Wright, 94, of Springview Road, Schellsburg, died at 1:20 PM, Tuesday, December 9th, 2014 at Colonial Courtyard.

Mr. Wright was born in E. St. Clair Twp. on Monday, November 8, 1920, the son of the late Elmer and Florence (Wilson) Wright.  Dale was born in the family farm house and for the next 94 years would spend practically every night under that same roof.

He is survived by  Sister- Marilyn Jean Wright, Titusville, FL; Sister-in-Law LaFerne Wright, Niles, MI; Sister-in-Law- Carole Wright Henry, Schellsburg.  He is also survived by a niece, Jean Rushing and eleven nephews, Dale Barefoot, Charles Barefoot, Wayne Barefoot, Daniel Barefoot, William Barefoot, Stephen Wright, Alan Wright, Larry Wright, Robert Wright, David Wright & Chris Wright.  Dale was a great-uncle to eleven and a great great-uncle to seven.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Wilson, Harry "Bud" & Harold and sister, Laverne Barefoot.

Dale was a lifetime member of Point United Methodist Church in Schellsburg.  For many years, he was a partner in Wright Orchards in Spring Hope.  After his retirement he continued working the land as a gentleman farmer.  Dale played the clarinet and was a longtime member of the Claysburg Legion Band and was a founding member of the Fishertown Community Band.

He enjoyed bowling and bowled for many years in various leagues at the Elks in Bedford. Dale also enjoyed skiing and learned the sport during the transition of the Claysburg Air Force Station to the Blue Knob Ski Resort.  He continued skiing well into his early seventies, earning a lifetime lift pass from the resort.

Dale was the recipient of a commendation from Rep. Dick Hess for his outstanding voting record.  Since he had reached voting age, he had voted in every election, both the primary and general, that he was eligible for over 50 years.

Dale was a wonderful brother, uncle & friend and he will be missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 16th, 2014 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Pleasantville.
