Dale R. (Wentz) Claycomb

Mrs. Dale R. Claycomb, age 86, of  Ford Country Lane, Osterburg,  went home to be with the Lord at 9:30 PM , on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 at Altoona Hospital.

Mrs. Claycomb was born in W. St. Clair Township on Sunday, November 19, 1922,  the daughter of the late Clyde and Hazel (Miller) Wentz.

On July 26, 1941, she married I. Stanley Claycomb.   In addition to her husband she is survived by Son- James  S. husband of  Jane (Beegle) Claycomb, Osterburg; Daughter- Linda L. wife of  Frank Brumbaugh, Osterburg; Son- Joseph Z. husband of  Sandra (Miller) Claycomb, Osterburg; Daughter- Debra D. Ryba, Osterburg; Son- Jeffrey K. Claycomb and fiancee Lorraine Deremer; Osterburg; Sister- Ferne Leppert, New Paris; Sister- Donna  Leibfried, Alum Bank; Brother- Ira W. "Jack" Wentz, Lititz; Brother- Ray Wentz, Manassas, VA; Brother- Lee Wentz, Fort Worth,TX. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clyde Wentz, Jr. and by her sister Jeanne King.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Alum Bank where she served in the Ladies Auxiliary.

Dale was a housewife who worked as a waitress at the Midway in Bedford and with her husband co-owned the "Cow" in Alum Bank.  She was an avid flower gardener and a fantastic cook.  .

A Funeral Service will be held  at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc.,  Pleasantville, at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 9th, 2009 with Rev. Charles Jack officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
