Connor Lee Ickes, 11, of Dunkard Hollow Road, Alum Bank, died Friday, September 12th, 2014 at Windber Hospital, Windber, Somerset County, PA.
Connor was born in Johnstown on Thursday, September 11, 2003, the son of Ronald L. and Brenda L. (Jezeskie) Ickes.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by Sister- Nadia Lee Ickes, at home; Sister- Kaylin Lee Ickes, at home; Paternal Grandparents- Barry & Louise (Gordon) Ickes, Schellsburg; Maternal Grandmother- Betty Jezeskie, Alum Bank; Uncle- Rick Jezeskie; Aunt & Uncle- Kim & Butch Harr; Aunt & Uncle- Darren & Tara Ickes; Cousins- Tyler & Lauren and Extended Family Member- Mary Ann Verhovsek, Belvedere, SC. He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Lois Johnston & his Pap Rudy Verhovsek
Connor attended of the Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren and was in the 5th grade at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. He loved football and was on the Chestnut Ridge Little Lions 5th & 6th Grade Tackle Team. Connor enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting air riffles and pistols, riding 4-wheelers and his John Deere 620 Tractor that was originally his Pap Rudy's. Connor had a pet goat named Daisy and was a member of the Mountain Hollow 4-H, showing both rabbits and model horses at the Bedford County Fair.
A Funeral Service will be held at Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren, New Paris at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15th, 2014 with Pastor Robert Thacker officiating.
Interment will be held at Mock Cemetery, Alum Bank.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the church.
