Mrs. Cloette D. Defibaugh, 84, formerly of Brant Hollow Road, Buffalo Mills, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at Pennknoll Village.
Mrs. Defibaugh was born in Middletown on Wednesday, January 21, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter S. and Emma E. (Whitfield) Hart.
On April 2, 1948, she married Harry F. Defibaugh. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2007.
She is survived by Daughter- Joyce A. wife of John E. Edwards, Churchton, MD; Daughter- Sharron L. Sample, Bowie, MD; Son- Donald J. husband of Martha M. Defibaugh, Annapolis, MD; Son- Steven R. husband of Katrine Defibaugh, Edinburg, VA; Sister- Joanne "Dolly" wife of Howard "Junior" Stapleton, New Enterprise; Brother- Arley husband of Janet Hart, Yellow Creek; Brother- Fred husband of Kathy Hart, Heston; Brother- Daniel husband of Cathy Jo Hart, Woodbury; Brother- George Hart, Florida. Cloette is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane K. Mariast, a grandson, Kirk F. Sample, a son-in-law, Steven S. Mariast, an infant daughter, three sisters, Geraldine "Sis", Agnes & Connie and three brothers, Willard "Bugs", Dave & June.
Cloette was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene. She was a licensed preacher and enjoyed the time she was able to spend spreading the Word of God. Cloette was an avid gardener and loved cooking. She was an expert baker, specializing in pies and dumplings. Cloette was a one-of-a-kind person who was a blessing to all who were privileged to know her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 12 Noon on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015.
Interment will be held at Evans Cemetery, Broad Top.
