Clarence S. "Hun" Hillegass

Mr. Clarence S. "Hun"  Hillegass, 82, of Hillegass Road, Schellsburg, died Friday, November 16th, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Hillegass was born in Juniata Township on Wednesday, February 5, 1930,  the son of the late Michael and Virginia (Fair) Hillegass.

On March 3, 1951, he married Clara F. "Tat" (Collins) Hillegass.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Wayne S. husband of Lori (Haydu) Hillegass, Schellsburg; Son- Henry A. husband of Terry (Motter) Hillegass, Bedford. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlin, Lindsey and Aaron, and two great grandsons, Jaxson and Sean. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Hillegass and Henry Hillegass and by two sisters, Edith Hauger and Mary Etta Hankinson.

Hun was a charter member of the United Church of Schellsburg.  He was a lifelong farmer on the family homestead and was the owner of Hillegass Campground in Schellsburg.  Hun was had been a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480 for 43 years  and was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Silver Springs, FL for 23 years.  He was a member of the Bedford Elks Lodge #1707 for 24 years, a member of the New Baltimore Sportsman's Club and a social member of the Schellsburg VFW Post #4440. .

A Funeral Service will be held at United Church of Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 with Rev. Ruth Shaver &  Rev. Dr. Merle Correll officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
