Mr. Charles K. "Charlie" Ritchie, 75, of McCreary Lane, New Paris, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mr. Ritchie was born in Johnstown on July 7, 1942, the son of the late Herman C. and Margaret (Hecker) Ritchie.
On August 24, 1995, he married JoAnne (Holler) Ritchie. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Charles Ritchie; Daughter- Marjorie Shingle Wilmore; Step Daughter- Stephanie Mitchell; Step Son- Scott Barefoot; Grandchildren- Zac, Amanda, Victoria & Charbo; Great Granddaughter- Justice; Step Grandchildren- Savanna, Jaxon, Kiana & Kyra.
Charlie was a member of the Faith Brethren Bible Church in New Paris. He graduated from Johnstown High School and served in the 103rd Armor Regiment, Tank Battalion of the PA National Guard. Charlie was employed at Bethlehem Steel for ten years and at Island Coal Mine in Tire Hill for five years. He retired from UPS in 2003 after 30 years of service as a driver. He served on the Fishtertown Water Association for ten years, holding both the offices of president and vice president. Charlie was a member of the GWRRA Trike Group, Chapter W in Everett. He enjoyed golfing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Charlie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 27th, 2017.
Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
