Mr. Charles F. "Chuck" Rhodes, 57, of Ford Cab Road, Fishertown, passed away Sunday, December 6th, 2015 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Rhodes was born in Huntingdon on Thursday, April 3, 1958, the son of the late Rev. Charlie and June (Rogers) Rhodes.
On September 15, 2000, he married Romona E. (Weyant) Rhodes. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Brian Rhodes, Fishertown; Daughter- Nicole wife of David Claar, Claysburg; Daughter- Cassie Reed, Grafton, OH; four wonderful grandchildren, Emily, Mason, Savanna & Sophie, the lights of his life; Sister- Carol Jean wife of Wally Allen, Union Bridge, MD; Sister- Sandra Lee wife of Roy Cresswell, Huntingdon; Sister- Tonya wife of Denne Osman, Alum Bank; Sister- Linda wife of Richard Fisher, Fishertown; Aunts- Gerry & Judy and by three nieces, three nephews, seven great nieces, five great nephews and one great great nephew. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vicki Smith.
Chuck was an active member of the Chestnut Ridge independent Fellowship Church. He was also a member of the Three Springs Hunting camp and a member of the Pleasantville VFW #9219. He graduated in 1976 from Chestnut ridge High School. Chuck was employed by Maxwell transportation. He enjoyed driving the children to and from school and he formed a special bond with one of his charges, Paul.
Chuck loved to drag race motorcycles and did so for many years with his son, Brian. He then retired and dedicated his time to helping his grandson Mason become a 3rd generation drag racer.
One of Chuck's greatest joys was playing the role of Santa for anyone who asked. He loved the happiness he could bring to children of all ages. Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him
A Funeral Service will be held at Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, New Paris at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 10th, 2015 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.
Interment will be held at Wayne United Methodist Church Cemetery McVeytown, Mifflin County.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM at the church.
