Mr. Charles D. "Bud" Dailey, 84, of Quaker Valley Road, Alum Bank, died Friday, January 5th, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Mr. Dailey was born in Five Forks, WV on April 21, 1933, the son of the late Kenneth James and Mildred Viola (Fearer) Dailey.
On October 28, 1953, he married Wilda Lee (Barnes) Dailey at the Oakland United Methodist Church in Maryland.
In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- D. Vaughn Dailey, Houston, PA; Son- Dana V. Dailey, Finleyville; Son- Dale V. husband of Georgia Dailey, Austin, TX; Daughter- Nina M. Bounds, Aiken, SC; Grandson- Jesse Dailey; Granddaughter- Danielle Dailey; Grandson- Dylan Dailey; Brother- Delbert Dailey, Five Forks, WV. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Valma Herring and Bernetta Ringer.
Bud was affiliated with the Salem Church of the Brethren in Brandonville, WV. He served as a Corporal in the US Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. Bud was a truck driver and drove truck for Glison Lumber Company in Washington County, Eastern Express and Thiele Industries. He had many hobbies, including working in his yard, taking care of his flowers, feeding and caring for the neighborhood's stray cats and collecting antique bicycles. Bud loved his friends and neighbors and was quite content to sit on his front porch and take note of the comings and goings on Route 56; always ready with a wave for those he knew. He also looked forward to the "meetings" he and friends would have at McDonald's. Bud was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 with Rev. Raymond Beal officiating.
Interment will be held at Salem-Thomas Cemetery, Brandonville, WV.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
