Charles H. Schaeffer

Charles H. Schaeffer, age 67 of Main Road, Friends Cove passed away November 10, 2024. He was born August 2, 1957, son of the late William H. Schaeffer and is survived by his mother Charlotte Koontz Schaeffer. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters: Margaret Schaeffer and significant other Cody Nave, Heather Clark wife of Steven, Holly Foor wife of Jarred; 5 grandchildren: Brian Harr Jr husband of Rachel (Burkett), Kelli Daugherty wife of Douglas, Charles Harr, Curtis Smith and significant other Kadence Miller, Sydnie Smith and significant other Denver Livengood; 1 great granddaughter, Summer Smith. He is also survived by a sister Lisa Schaeffer Miller wife of Brice of Bordertown and cousin David A. Schaeffer husband of Gwen.

Charles enjoyed a lifelong career in farming. Along the way he held a variety of jobs; grounds keeper at the Bedford Cemetery, mechanic at Penn Diesel, local milk tester, and then retired from PennDOT. He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Friends Cove Sportsman Club. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed making his famous whole hog sausage. Charles was passionate about his family and friends and tremendously enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Geisel Styer Funeral Home with Rev Bill Shrout officiating. Interment will be held at Woods Church Cemetery, Colerain Township. Friends are invited to call on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes, Bedford, from 4-8 PM and on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 10-11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Memory of Charles Howard Schaeffer to the Woods Church, 800 Preston St., Apt 4, Bedford PA 15522.
