Carrie Louise (Heming) Ward

Mrs. Carrie Louise Ward, 77, of Lincoln Drive, Bedford, died Wednesday, August 19th, 2015 at Windber Hospice.

Mrs. Ward was born in Bedford on Monday, September 20, 1937,  the daughter of the late Theodore and Irma (Divley) Heming.

On September 16, 1961, she married Melvin Lloyd Ward.  In addition to her husband she is survived by Daughter- Barbara L. wife of  David Himmler, Bedford; Son- David L. husband of  Kimberly (Tobin) Ward, Hagerstown, MD; Grandchildren- Justin, Kristie, Brendon, Bray, Kayla & Tyler; Brother- Richard husband of  Jean (Hoopengardner) Heming, Bedford; Sister- Donna wife of  John Shaffer, New Paris.  She was preceded in death by her son, Bobby, brother, Ronald Heming & sister, Mary Swope.

Carrie was a member of the Pleasant Hill Bible Church in Bedford where she taught Sunday School.  She was previously employed as a store clerk at G.C. Murphy's, Ressler's and Bargain World.  Carrie was a loving person, a great mother and grandmother and her faith and her family were the most important things in her life.  She will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 with Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
