Burt L. Yarnell, Jr.

Mr. Burt L. Yarnell, Jr., 88, of Lovely Road, Alum Bank, died Saturday, December 28th, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Yarnell was born in Lincoln Township on Thursday, October 22, 1925,  the son of the late Burt C. and Irene (McMasters) Yarnell.

On September 9, 1950, he married Mary Ann (Gerula) Yarnell.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Sandra E. wife of  Vaughn Engle, Cincinnati, OH; Son- Jerry A. husband of  Helen (Grogan) Yarnell, Pinetops, NC ; Son- Perry O. husband of  Deborah (Schade) Yarnell, Fishertown; Son- Roger B. husband of  Mindy (McCreary) Yarnell, New Paris; Brother- Paul Yarnell, Alum Bank; Brother- Thomas Yarnell, Alum Bank. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J. Frank Yarnell, George Yarnell and Charles Yarnell.

Burt was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Lovely.  He first worked at the Berwind-White Coal Company in Windber and then retired from Whitaker Paving in Windber.  Burt was a family man; a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Lovely. at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 with Rev. Les Hutchinson officiating.

Interment will be held at  Bedford County Memorial Park.
