Blaine E. Turner, 72, of Picnic Road, Claysburg died Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.
Blaine was born in Bedford on Friday, May 21, 1943, the son of the late Lester G. and Mary Margaret (Croyle) Turner.
On November 30, he married Patricia A. (Thompson) Turner. She preceded him in death on February 6th of this year.
He is survived by Son- Jeff L. Turner, East Freedom; Daughter- Robin J. wife of James Furlong, New Windsor, MD; Daughter- Kitty S. Risbon, New Paris; Daughter- Tonia J. wife of Luke G. Brenneman, Williamsburg. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jamie M. Swint and husband Travis, Steven D. Lear and wife Brogan, Mariah A. Walter, Katelyn M. Anderson and husband Kevin, Jessie M. Walter & Cody J. Furlong, and three great grandchildren, Vada L. Lear, Stella R. Lear & Presley A. Lear. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy A. Turner, a granddaughter, Danyelle L. Clatterbaugh and by a brother, Blair E. Turner.
Blaine was a jack of all trades and mechanically inclined. He was blessed with talented hands and was able to tackle any project put in front of him, including carpentry, construction, plumbing & heating, design and maintenance. He retired from Sproul Brickyard after over 25 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with cars & lawn mowers and lending a hand to his family, friends and neighbors. Blaine was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 9th, 2015.
Interment will be held at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Bedford.
