Mr. Blaine E. Diehl, 88, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, died Monday, March 6th, 2017 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Diehl was born in Juniata Township on Sunday, January 13, 1929,  the son of the late Vitelas "Barney" and Mabel (Suder) Diehl.

On May 7, 1949, he married Mary Louise (Getz) Diehl.  She preceded him in death on October 22, 2015.

He is survived by  Daughter- Linda wife of George Sotirokos, Pittsburgh & Fort Myers, FL; Daughter- Vickie wife of Michael Blubaugh, Bedford; Daughter- Lisa widow of Timothy Helms, New Ringgold; Brother- Leonard husband of Peg Diehl, Manns Choice; Brother- Earnest husband of Nancy Diehl, Manns Choice.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Earnie Sotirokos, Blaine Eddie Sotirokos, Luke Morgart, Kylee Welsh, Brian Blubaugh, Bradley Blubaugh, Jeremy Helms, Sarah Highland, Rachel Vreeland & Emily Helms and by ten great grandchildren, Olivia, Jason, Andrew, Liza, Nate, Paige, Roseanna, Leah, Abigail & Isabella and by one great great granddaughter, Olivia.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Helms.

Blaine was a member of the Christ Victory Church in New Buena Vista.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War.  Blaine was first employed as a mechanic for Eastern Express.  He then worked as a machinist at Westinghousse in Manns Choice.  He was a member of the Antique Car Club.  Blaine was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Victory Church, New Buena Vista at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 11th, 2017 with Pastor Pat Murphy officiating.

Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD. Military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
