Mrs. Betty L. "Nana"  Shank, 82, of Rocklick Hollow Road, New Paris, died Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at her home.

Mrs. Shank was born in Johnstown on Thursday, August 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Louis and Rosella (Galordi) Pingtella.

On January 14, 1956, she married Terry A. Shank, Sr.  He preceded her in death on December 23, 1999.

She is survived by  Daughter- Kimberly A. wife of  Tom Foor, Mechanicsburg; Daughter- Christine L. wife of  Leo Bogee, Honolulu, HI; Son- Terry A. Shank, Jr. husband of  Wanda (Miller), New Paris; Son- John E. Shank, New Paris; Brother- Frank Pingtella, Buffalo, NY; Sister- Jennie Meyers, Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Douglas Claycomb & wife, Kristen, Adam Claycomb & wife Libby, Shelley Foor, Tyler Shank & wife Emily, Samuel Shank, Andre Bogee & Nicole Shank. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Pingtella & Henry Pingtella and by two sisters, Emma Casale & Mary Cicozzi.

Nana was a member of the New Paris United Methodist Church.  She was employed for 25 years as a Residential Parent at the Bedford/Somerset Offices of MHMR and  she also worked as a nursing assistant at Pennknoll Village.  Nana was a member of the WCTU, RSVP and volunteered for 25 years for the Special Olympics.  She was also a volunteer at the New Paris Food Pantry and  visited shut-ins in the community.  Nana was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always put the needs of others above her own.  She will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at New Paris United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 11th,  2015 with Pastor Doreen Griffith officiating.

Interment will be held at Cuppett Cemetery, New Paris.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2:00 - 9:00 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg and Saturday from 1:30 - 2:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Nana to the New Paris Food Pantry, PO Box 15, New Paris, PA 15554.
