Betty J. Conrath, 83, of Heritage Road, Osterburg, died Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 at her home.
Betty was born in Bedford on January 4, 1934, the daughter of the late John and Arvilla (Miller) Kagarise.
She is survived by Daughter- Peggy wife of Don Hyde, Osterburg; Son- William Conrath and life companion Kathy Beegle, Breezewood; Daughter- Cindy widow of Gary Davis Sr., Bedford; Daughter- Vanessa Berkheimer, Imler; Son- Steve "Dink" Conrath, Everett; Son- Jeff Conrath, Bedford; Son- Michael husband of Susan (Miller) Conrath, Bedford; Daughter- Jen wife of Curt Gardner, Bedford; Daughter- Wendee companion of Kevin Corle Anderson, Fishertown; Sister- Nancy wife of Robert Mock, Bedford; Sister- Carolyn wife of Ron Long, Lancaster; Sister- Cheryle wife of Richard Engbert, Schellsburg; Sister- Shirley wife of Melvin Hall of Saxton. Betty is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sons, Virgil,Gregory, John Jr., Earnest and Donald, granddaughter, Brandie, infant sister, Peggy, brother, Eugene and sisters, Edith Mutchler and Beverly Stutzman.
Betty was a hard worker and was employed as a cook and waitress at several area restaurants including, Willows, Mae's Dinner, Landmark, Judy's and the Carriage House. She loved taking care of animals, especially her furbabies; dogs, Molly & Suzie and her cat Doc. Betty loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 with Pastor John Bennett officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
