Bernice M. Diehl, 88, Vassar Drive, Edwardsville, IL, formerly of Manns Choice died at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Liberty Village, Maryville, IL.
Mrs. Diehl was born in Lorain Borough, Cambria County,PA on January 16, 1930, daughter of the late Cletus D. and Bernadine (Imgrund) Suttmiller.
On March 29, 1952 Bernice married Stanley "Pee Wee" Diehl. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1995.
She is survived by Daughter- Deniece A. wife of Karl Bogle, Edwardsville, IL; Grandson- Matthew T. Bogle, Greenville, SC; Granddaughter- Beth (Bogle) Van Beek, Greenville, SC; Great-Granddaughter Makinley; Great-Granddaughter Elliece; Great-Granddaughter Audrey; Great-Granddaughter Vivienne; Brother- Donald Suttmiller, Everett; Brother- John Suttmiller, Enid, OK; Brother- Cyril Suttmiller, Enid, OK; Sister- Madeline Fochtman, New Baltimore; Sister- Emma Steach, Everett. Bernice is preceded in death by a son- Terry Diehl and a Sister Frances "Toni" Hillegass.
Bernice worked as a Waitress at Landmark Restaurant, Bedford.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg where a Vigil for the deceased will be held.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15th, with Father Mark Pattock- Celebrant officiating.
Committal at St. Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.
