Bernard E. Ranker

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bernard E. Ranker on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. "Pete" or "Bernie" was born on April 14, 1944, he was born to parents Harold and Ethel "Stiffler" Ranker in St. Clairsville, PA.

Upon graduation from High School, Bernard served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. After finishing his service, he completed a 40+ year career as an OTR truck driver, predominately for ABF Trucking. Once retired to Baker's Summit, PA, Pete could be found restoring anything that didn't run, tinkering in the garage with neighbor "son" Ron Kensinger or spending time gardening or mowing any yard he came across. Pete was well known in certain circles for never allowing anyone to leave his garage with a dirty car. He was well known as a practical joker and had a keen sense of humor, especially when it came to his grandkids and silly string. Bernard had an amazing work ethic and sense of purpose, he was always known to lend a hand to friends, family and neighbors.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mary Regina Ranker. His daughters: Tami and Ami (Shawn) and their mother Nancy. Stepchildren: Nichole (Brent) and Shane. Six grandchildren: Alicia, Cooper, Lucia, Berkley, Shaen Alexis and Issac. Sisters: Darlene (Kerry) and Sally (Charles). Plus, numerous cousins.

Bernard will be loved and remembered in our hearts. In lieu of services, as per Bernard's request, we would like to invite all friends and family to a Celebration of Life on February 23, 2025, from 2pm - 4pm at the Bedford American Legion Post 113 located at 3721 Business 220, Bedford, PA. 15522.
