A. Virginia (Hammer) Snyder

Mrs. A. Virginia  Snyder, 87, of E. Pitt Street, Bedford, formerly of Manns Choice died at 3:05 AM, Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at Pennknoll Village.

Mrs. Snyder was born in E. St. Clair Township on Tuesday, April 22, 1924,  the daughter of the late  Ross Hammer and A. Lillian (Russell) Hammer-Henderson.  As a child, she was reared in the home of her grandparents, Mary and Joseph Russell.

On July, 19, 1941, she was married to Charles F. Snyder who preceded her in death on January 25, 1996.

She is survived by  Son- Joseph M. husband of  Sandra P. (Herline) Snyder, Schellsburg; Brother- Harold "Bud" Henderson, Osterburg; Sister- Delores Pepple, Everett. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Daniel, Michael and Michele, and four great grandchildren, Adam, Audra, Cassandra Jo and Corrissa Sue.  She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Donna Sue Snyder, two brothers, Ned E. Hammer, who was killed in service during W.W.II in Plankstadt, Germany and Allen Henderson and by a sister, Joyce Latta.

Virginia was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Manns Choice Church of God.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating.

Interment will be held at  Schellsburg Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
