Audrey Lucille (Leppert) Faulders

Audrey Lucille Faulders, age 80, of Glen Carbon, IL, born March 23, 1940 in Schellsburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL.

Before her retirement, Audrey had worked for many years as a retail clerk at the BP gas station on Hwy 157 in Glen Carbon, IL.  In her younger years, she worked as a waitress for the Howard Johnson’s in Bedford, PA and was a homemaker.  She particularly enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing Uno with her family, making plastic canvas needlepoint crafts, and crocheting. Audrey was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She lived modestly and gave generously.  With her easygoing independent spirit, Audrey dearly loved her family and was truly a fun and happy person who was friendly to everyone and who held a special place in her heart for children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl H. and Ellen Leona (nee Fleegle) Leppert; her husband, Solomon “Shorty” L. Faulders, Jr., whom she married September 4, 1962; a stepson, Ronald Faulders; three brothers:  Robert, Harry “Hiker” and Henry Leppert; a sister, M. Annette Mitchell; an infant sister, June; and three brothers-in-law:  John “J.P” Smith, Bill Robertson and Lewis Mitchell.

She is survived by a son, Stace (Lisa) Faulders; two grandchildren:  Stephanie and Joshua Faulders; two step-grandchildren:  Rhonda Garza and Ronald L. Faulders, Jr.; a brother, Paul (Kathy) Leppert; four sisters:  Ellen (Bob) Mitchell, Carol Sigler, R. Jane Smith and Margaret “Mag” Robertson; a sister-in-law, Carol Leppert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.  Masks are required to be worn.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 304 South Street, Collinsville, IL with Rev. Kyle Wright officiating.

A second visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9 - 11 a.m. at Jack Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg, PA with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Fishertown Cemetery, Fishertown, PA.

Memorials may be made in Audrey’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
