Mrs. Ann E. Mitchell, 86, of E. Pitt St., Bedford, died at 11:40 AM, Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at Pennknoll Village.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Bedford Township on Thursday, April 21, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Erdie (Mowery) Seifert.
She is survived by Daughter- Sharon widow of Richard Barzeski, Latrobe; Son- Robert E. husband of Connie (James) Mitchell, Bedford; Brother- Tom Seifert, Bedford; Sister- Margaret Lashley, Bedford. Ann is also survived by four grandchildren, Erik Barzeski, husband of Carey, Erie; Colin Mitchell husband of Amy, Pittsburgh; Karlye Shirley, wife of Brad, Latrobe and Christopher Mitchell and fiancée Courtney Heberling, Pittsburgh, and four great granddaughters, Natalie, Harper, Dylan and Keagan and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the following siblings: Edna Seifert, Catherine Carney, Leroy Seifert, Mabel Milam, Donald Seifert, Lillian Lashley, and Norma Jean Edwards.
Ann was a homemaker and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford. She was also a member of the Bedford Moose Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Bedford Senior Center and Silver Sneakers. Ann was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events. She enjoyed playing games with her friends at Mountain Valley and spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford at 9:30 AM on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 with Rev. Raymond Short officiating.
Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Bedford.
