Anna Jane (Mickle) Kring

Mrs. Anna Jane Kring, 88, of Reservoir Road, Hollidaysburg, formerly of New Paris and Pleasantville, died Sunday, October 14th, 2012 at Hillview Nursing Home, Altoona.

Mrs. Kring was born in Osterburg on Monday, November 19, 1923,  the daughter of the late Clarence S. and Leah R. (Mock) Mickle.

On April 8, 1950, she married John W. Kring in Cumberland, MD.  He preceded her in death on November 9, 2000.

She is survived by  Son- Standford husband of  Patricia (McMillen) Worrell, Everett; Son- John W. Kring, II husband of  Connie (Daley) Kring, Fishertown; Daughter- Valorie J. (Kring) McCardell wife of  Tony Torres, Nashville, TN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, Mrs. Kring shared a birthday with her great granddaughter, Alexis. She was preceded in death by a daughter Vanessa Manges, an infant grandson and a sister, Freda Hechler.

Anna Jane was a member of the Spring Hope Brethren in Christ Church.  She was employed as a practical nurse first at Smiths Nursing Home in Manns Choice and then at Pennwood Guest Home in Everett.  Anna Jane was a Green Thumb Driver and Representative and a volunteer School Marm at Old Bedford Village.  She also enjoyed playing the piano.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 18th, 2012 with Rev. Merle J. Horton officiating.

Interment will be held at  Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
