Annabelle (Corley) Housel

Annabelle Housel (Corley), 93, of Bedford, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Annabelle was born on May 22, 1928, to Bud and Dessie (Diehl) Corley.

She married Gene Housel on November 1, 1947, and enjoyed 65 years with her sweetheart. Gene’s career took them all over the East Coast, but Annabelle’s heart could always be found in Bard Hollow.

A wonderful baker, she always had plenty of raisin filled cookies and sweet treats for family and friends. An independent spirit, Annabelle was a skilled seamstress and could still be seen mowing her lawn at age 87.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Charlie) Connor, Wilmington, NC; sister, Bonnie (Bob) Popdan; and sister-in-law Bernie Corley. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kelly (Mike) Greenwald, Brandee Pittman, Josh (Meghan) Connor and Kate Connor; four great grandchildren, BreAnn Shaffer, Courtney Greenwald, Kendall Pittman, and Ashton Connor; and one great-great grandchild Brooklynn Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, daughter Barbara Housel Imler, sister Irene Corley Hillegass and two brothers, Robert and Stanley Corley.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 10-11AM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford with a Funeral Service at 11:00AM with Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Fairhope, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Annabelle Housel to the Bedford United Methodist Church, 132 E. St. John St., Bedford, PA 15522.
