Allene Fay (Wirick) Bowser, age 100, of Twin Pine Farm, Alum Bank,  died Monday, June 4th, 2018 at her home.

Allene was born in Windber, on March 1, 1918,  she was the daughter of the late Arthur P. and Carrie E (Hoffman) Wirick.

She married in Reading  on June 15, 1937 to James Alton Bowser who preceded her in death on March 27, 1994.

She is survived by  Son- Jay husband of  Patsy Bowser, Alum Bank; Son- Dennis husband of  Barbara Bowser, Alum Bank; Daughter- Diane wife of  Larry Otto, Alum Bank; Daughter- Denise wife of  Gary Kerr, New Paris. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Lorne, Holly, Jill, Tonya, Kristen, Michael, Angela, Christopher, Heather, Ryan, Gregory, 20 great grandchildren,  2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters-Beatrice, Opal,Dorothy, and Erma.

She was a member of  Alum Bank United Methodist Church, where she taught Bible School and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Alum Bank Community Kitchen Band which was selected to play on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour in New York City.  In her later years she was lovingly known as Gram to all who knew her.  Until her last day here on earth she was very kind, thoughtful, fun loving & classy lady.  She loved to shop for nice clothes & was an excellent cook.  She lived over 80 years on her family farm making everyone who stopped in feel right at home.  She will be greatly missed by her large, loving family.  She left us a book of poems that she wrote & many wonderful memories to cherish until we meet again.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Alum Bank United Methodist Church, Alum Bank,  at 11:30 AM on Saturday, June 9th, 2018  with Pastor Raymond Beal officiating.

Interment at Pleasantville Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call Saturday 9:30 -11:30 AM at Alum Bank United Methodist Church.
