Alice I (Turner) Shaffer

Mrs. Alice I. Shaffer, 94, of Lemic Drive, New Paris, formerly of Manns Choice, went home to be with her Lord at 11:23 AM, Saturday, July 16th, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mrs. Shaffer was born in Harrison Twp. on Friday, May 25, 1917,  the daughter of the late Oscar and Eve (Diehl) Shaffer.

She was married to Thadeus S. Shaffer, who preceded her in death on July 11, 1987.

She is survived by  Son- Lee S. Shaffer husband of  Faye, Enola; Son- Larry D. husband of  Carol (Shaffer) Shaffer, New Paris, with who she made her home; Sister- Stella wife of  Oscar Waugerman, Buffalo Mills. She is also survived by two grandsons and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn Turner, Sam Turner and Carl Turner

Alice was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Dry Ridge.  She was a homemaker.  Alice was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed growing flowers.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 20th, 2011 with Pastor James Espenshade, officiating.

Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
